Naceri Welcomes Omani Shura Council Delegation to Algiers

Algiers, September 29, 2025 – The President of the Council of the Nation, Mr. Azzouz Naceri, received on Sunday in Algiers a delegation from the administration of the Shura Council of the Sultanate of Oman, according to an official statement from the upper house of Parliament.

The visit comes within the framework of a working mission carried out by the Omani delegation at the invitation of the People’s National Assembly (APN). The initiative aims to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between Algeria and Oman while fostering traditions of dialogue and the exchange of expertise between the two countries’ legislative institutions.

During the meeting, Mr. Naceri praised the “solidity of Algerian-Omani relations, marked by mutual respect, understanding, and coordination, in addition to a shared civilizational and historical heritage, as well as the strong political will of both leaders — President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq — to enhance bilateral cooperation and build an excellent strategic partnership that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples.”

The head of the Council of the Nation also underlined the importance of parliamentary relations in supporting the political and economic dimensions of cooperation, stressing that the exchange of administrative and legislative experiences between parliaments represents a key factor in improving institutional performance and strengthening the quality of legislative work.

The statement further highlighted that the Omani administrative delegation held a working session with their Algerian counterparts, during which they were presented with a comprehensive overview of the functioning of the Council’s directorates and services. This session provided the Omani officials with an opportunity to explore Algeria’s parliamentary and administrative experience in detail, followed by a visit to several institutional structures.

As part of their mission, the Omani delegation will also attend a training program at the People’s National Assembly, which will run until October 3, 2025.

This exchange reflects the growing momentum in Algerian-Omani relations, anchored in common values and a shared vision of cooperation across political, economic, and cultural fields — a dynamic that reinforces Algeria’s role as a regional partner committed to constructive dialogue and balanced diplomacy.
