President Tebboune and President c Discuss Strengthening Algerian-Egyptian Cooperation

Algiers – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received a phone call on Wednesday from his brother, the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The two leaders exchanged views on the regional situation surrounding both countries and its implications for their peoples, according to a statement from the Algerian Presidency.

The statement noted that the two presidents also discussed the deeply rooted and historic bilateral relations, built upon the shared struggles of both nations and their leaderships for the Arab and Islamic causes. They agreed on the importance of intensifying cooperation across all sectors.

Both leaders also agreed to hold the next session of the Algerian-Egyptian High Joint Committee as soon as possible and to schedule mutual visits at the highest levels, reaffirming the shared values of solidarity and common interests between the two nations.

On this occasion, President Tebboune congratulated his Egyptian counterpart on Egypt’s election to head UNESCO, calling it a renewed recognition of Egypt’s ancient and enduring civilization that spans thousands of years. He stressed that Egypt’s leadership of this global organization would greatly benefit the international community as a whole.
