Thunderstorms Expected Across Several Algerian Provinces

Algiers, November 9, 2025 – The National Meteorology Office has issued a severe weather warning, forecasting thunderstorms across numerous provinces in Algeria today, Sunday.

The alert, released earlier this morning, indicates that the affected regions can expect heavy rainfall and potentially hazardous conditions. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions.

The provinces under the thunderstorm warning include El Tarf, Annaba, Skikda, Guelma, Souk Ahras, Constantine, Mila, Jijel, Bejaia, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Tizi Ouzou, Bouira, Boumerdes, Blida, Tipaza, and Algiers.

The meteorological office warns that the thunderstorms are expected to persist until 9:00 PM local time.

Authorities are urging citizens in these areas to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary travel, and secure loose objects that could be displaced by strong winds. Drivers are cautioned to exercise extreme care on the roads due to reduced visibility and potential flooding.
