Algerian Consulate in London Monitors Citizen’s Condition After Incident

The Algerian Consul General in London, accompanied by a diplomatic official from the embassy, recently visited Huntingdon Hospital, located approximately 120 kilometers from London, to inquire about the well-being of Algerian citizen Samir Zaitouni. Mr. Zaitouni is currently receiving treatment at the hospital following a recent incident.

Due to Mr. Zaitouni undergoing surgery on his hand at the time of the visit, the Consul General was unable to meet with him directly. However, the Consul General spoke with Mr. Zaitouni’s wife, who is of Greek nationality. During the conversation, the Consul General conveyed the solidarity and full support of the Algerian authorities during this difficult time. He expressed his wishes for Mr. Zaitouni’s speedy recovery and emphasized Algeria’s pride in the courage and heroism he displayed during the incident.

The Algerian consular services in London are continuously monitoring Mr. Zaitouni’s health condition closely. They await the first suitable opportunity to visit him in person as soon as his health improves and medical staff permit. It is worth noting that his wife has also been unable to visit him due to medical restrictions related to his critical condition, which requires specialized care and precise medical procedures.

This action underscores the Algerian authorities’ commitment to monitoring the conditions of its citizens residing or staying abroad and providing them with support in various circumstances. It reflects the spirit of national solidarity and continuous care for the Algerian community wherever they may be. We will continue to provide updates on Mr. Zaitouni’s condition as they become available. DZWatch remains dedicated to covering matters relevant to the Algerian diaspora.
