Bensebaini Ruled Out of Algeria Friendlies Due to Injury

Algiers, Algeria – Borussia Dortmund defender Ramy Bensebaini will miss Algeria’s upcoming friendly matches against Zimbabwe and Saudi Arabia due to injury, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has announced.

According to a statement released by the FAF, Bensebaini is suffering from lower back pain, preventing him from participating in the national team’s current training camp. The decision to excuse him from the friendlies was made after consultation with his club, Borussia Dortmund, and the Algerian national team’s medical staff.

National team coach Vladimir Petkovic opted to relieve Bensebaini from traveling to Jeddah, where the match against Saudi Arabia will be held, to avoid any potential complications and ensure his full recovery before returning to competitive play.

DZWatch understands that the decision prioritizes the player’s long-term health and fitness, allowing him adequate time to rehabilitate the injury and return to peak condition for both club and country.

The Algerian national team, Les Fennecs, are scheduled to face Zimbabwe in a friendly match on November 13th, followed by a second friendly against Saudi Arabia on November 18th. The absence of Bensebaini will undoubtedly be felt, but it presents an opportunity for other players to step up and showcase their abilities.

The focus remains on ensuring Bensebaini’s swift and complete recovery, with the hope that he will be available for future national team duties.
