The friendly matches are part of Algeria’s preparations for the highly anticipated Arab Cup 2025, which will be held in Qatar from December 1st to 18th. Bougherra’s squad comprises 27 players, blending experienced veterans with promising new talents.

Leading the line is the national team’s all-time leading goalscorer, Islam Slimani. Several fresh faces have also been included in the squad, offering Bougherra a wider range of options. Among the newcomers are Sofiane Bendebka, currently playing for Saudi Arabian club Al-Fateh, and Redha Haimidi, a defender from JS Kabylie. Young goalkeeper Farid Chaal, who has impressed with his performances for CR Belouizdad, also receives a call-up.

CS Constantine’s Al-Ghoul, who has been in excellent form this season, is also included, alongside Rafik Guitane of Estoril Praia (Portugal), who missed the previous camp due to injury.

The full squad list is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Chaal, Yesli, Hadid.

Defenders: Ghazala, Halaimia, Haimidi, Khacef, Mohamed Azzi, Bedrane, Abada, Azzi Emad, Medani.

Midfielders: Merizigue, Benkhemassa, Bendebka, Draoui, Boukershawi.

Forwards: Boulbina, Meziane, Berkane, Sayoud, Guitane, Daghmoum, Boudabouz, Al-Ghoul, Mahious, Slimani.

The primary objective of this training camp is to fine-tune the team’s readiness ahead of the Arab Cup. It also presents an invaluable opportunity to assess new players alongside established ones, ensuring the best possible preparations for the upcoming continental competition.
