Youssef Belmahdi, Algeria’s Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, participated in the semi-annual meeting of Hajj affairs heads held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Monday. The meeting focused on evaluating past Hajj seasons and coordinating efforts for upcoming pilgrimages.
During his address, Minister Belmahdi commended the significant efforts undertaken by Saudi Arabia to serve the pilgrims. He emphasized that recent Hajj seasons have witnessed remarkable improvements, making them the best in the last fifty years.
“The Kingdom’s dedication to facilitating a smooth and safe Hajj experience for all pilgrims is truly commendable,” the Minister stated.
Minister Belmahdi also highlighted the fruitful cooperation between the Algerian Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments and relevant Saudi authorities. He noted the positive impact of this collaboration on the comfort and safety of Algerian pilgrims.
“Our strong partnership with Saudi Arabia is crucial in ensuring the well-being of Algerian pilgrims throughout their journey,” he added.
Concluding his remarks, the Minister emphasized that the Hajj is a message of peace and universal humanity, inspired by the tolerant teachings of Islam brought by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He called for the Hajj season to serve as a platform for promoting mercy and unity among Muslims.
