ETUSA Boosts Sidi Abdellah Transport with Refurbished Buses

Algiers – The urban and suburban transport authority of Algiers (ETUSA) has significantly strengthened the public transportation network in Sidi Abdellah with the addition of 30 completely refurbished buses. The handover ceremony, which took place Thursday morning, was attended by the Director General of ETUSA, Issam Guidoum, and the Delegate Wali of the administrative district of Sidi Abdellah, Ben Haddou Jamal Abdelmoumen.

These buses were meticulously overhauled by the dedicated maintenance staff at ETUSA’s maintenance facility. This initiative is part of a larger plan to support and develop the urban transportation network, ensuring better connectivity for residents in the rapidly growing area of Sidi Abdellah.

The newly refurbished buses will serve vital routes connecting Sidi Abdellah to key destinations, including the University Train Station, Tessala El Merdja, Rahmania, Sidi Benour, Zaataria, Mactaa Khira, Ben Aknoun, and Tafourah. This expansion aims to alleviate transportation challenges and improve the daily commute for a large segment of the population.

The handover ceremony saw the presence of several dignitaries, including the National Security Commissioner of Sidi Abdellah, a representative of the Head of the Administrative District of Zeralda, the President of the Popular Municipal Assembly of Maalma, a representative of the Regional Gendarmerie Battalion, the Head of the Civil Protection Unit, representatives of local associations, and the Secretary-General of the ETUSA union, alongside ETUSA executives and employees.

This operation aligns with the directives of the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Said Saayoud, to enhance public transport services and facilitate citizen mobility. It also highlights the crucial role of maintenance workers in rehabilitating the bus fleet and improving the quality of service provided to the public.

During the ceremony, the Director General of ETUSA emphasized the company’s ongoing commitment to modernizing its fleet and continuing regular bus refurbishment programs. These efforts are geared towards meeting the comfort and safety needs of passengers, ultimately making public transport a preferred and sustainable option for travel within Algiers and its surrounding areas. ETUSA aims to provide a reliable and comfortable transportation experience for all commuters.
