The Société Nationale des Transports Ferroviaires (SNTF), Algeria’s national railway operator, has announced adjustments to its passenger train schedules, effective tomorrow, Tuesday. The changes aim to optimize service and cater to evolving commuter needs. In addition, two new routes have been introduced, connecting Algiers to the eastern suburb of Reghaïa, providing both outbound and return services.
According to a statement released by the SNTF, the schedule modifications affect several key lines, including:
- Zéralda–Thénia–Zéralda
- Algiers–Thénia–Algiers
- Algiers–El Affroun–Algiers
The revised timetable for the Zéralda–Thénia route will see departures from Zéralda at 06:35, 12:45, and 16:30. Trains departing from Thénia to Zéralda are scheduled for 09:10 and 14:20. The Reghaïa–Zéralda service will depart at 18:00.
The two newly introduced routes will operate between Reghaïa and Algiers. The train from Reghaïa to Algiers will depart at 06:50, while the return journey from Algiers to Reghaïa is scheduled for 18:40. These new services are expected to significantly improve connectivity for commuters traveling between Algiers and its eastern periphery.
SNTF encourages passengers to consult the updated schedules available at train stations and on the company’s official website to plan their journeys accordingly.
These changes reflect SNTF’s commitment to providing efficient and reliable transportation services to the Algerian public. Further adjustments and expansions are anticipated as part of ongoing efforts to modernize and improve the national railway network.
