Algiers, Algeria – The National Rail Transport Company (SNTF) has announced significant revisions to train schedules in the Algiers suburbs, along with the introduction of new routes. These changes, effective Tuesday, November 18, 2025, are in direct response to directives from the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Said Saayoud, aimed at enhancing public service and meeting the growing demands of commuters.
The updated schedule focuses on optimizing service across key suburban lines. Several routes will see an increase in the number of daily trips, while adjustments have been made to existing departure times to improve efficiency and passenger convenience.
Affected Routes and Schedule Changes:
The following lines will experience alterations to their schedules:
- Zeralda – Thénia Line: Departure times are now scheduled for 06:35 AM, 12:05 PM, and 16:30 PM.
- Thénia – Zeralda Line: Departure times are now scheduled for 09:10 AM and 14:20 PM.
- Reghaïa – Zeralda Line: Departure time is scheduled for 18:00 PM.
New Routes Introduced:
To further improve connectivity, SNTF has added the following new routes:
- Algiers – Reghaïa Line: Departure time is scheduled for 18:40 PM.
- Reghaïa – Algiers Line: Departure time is scheduled for 06:50 AM.
Afroun – Algiers Schedule Adjustment:
The morning departure from Afroun to Algiers has been adjusted to 06:15 AM, a shift from the previous time of 06:30 AM. This minor change is intended to better align with peak commuting hours.
SNTF officials stated that these modifications are part of an ongoing effort to improve the overall rail transport experience for Algiers residents. The company encourages passengers to consult the updated schedules on the SNTF website or at local train stations for the most accurate information.
