Heavy Thunderstorms Sweep Across Several Algerian Provinces

Algiers, Algeria – Several provinces across Algeria are experiencing a wave of heavy thunderstorms today, prompting warnings from meteorological services. Citizens are urged to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel, particularly in areas affected by severe weather disturbances.

According to a special weather bulletin, rainfall amounts could reach up to 40mm in certain localities. The affected provinces include Tlemcen, Ain Temouchent, Oran, and Mostaganem, with the heavy rainfall expected to persist until midday.

Furthermore, thunderstorms are predicted to continue from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM in the provinces of Naama, El Bayadh, Bechar, and Beni Abbes.

Other provinces including Medea, Tissemsilt, Relizane, Mascara, Tiaret, Saida, Sidi Bel Abbes, El Menia, and Ouargla, are also bracing for localized thunderstorms between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

Significant thunderstorm activity is anticipated in the provinces of Ghardaia, Touggourt, El Oued, Tebessa, and Khenchela, starting from midday and lasting until dawn on Wednesday.

The weather forecast also indicates that Bejaia, Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, and El Tarf will experience thunderstorms from midday until 9:00 PM. Residents in these areas are advised to stay informed about weather updates and take necessary precautions.
