Algiers – Significant changes have been announced regarding the registration fees for the 2026 Baccalaureate exam for independent, or unenrolled, candidates. The National Examinations Office has set the fee at 2,000,000 centimes (20,000 DZD) for candidates who have not previously obtained the Baccalaureate and are attempting the exam for the fifth time.
The National Examinations and Competitions Office confirmed that registration for the 2026 Baccalaureate exam for independent candidates is now open and will continue until midnight (00:00) on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. The office also revealed the unprecedented increase in registration fees.
Regarding eligibility, the Office stated that any candidate residing in Algeria who has regularly attended the third year of secondary school, or an equivalent level, at a public or accredited private educational institution, or through the National Office for Distance Education and Training, may participate in the exam as an independent candidate.
Independent candidates can register in one of the following Baccalaureate streams: Literature and Philosophy, Foreign Languages, Management and Economics, Experimental Sciences, Mathematics, or Technical Mathematics. Registrations are conducted online through the website https bac.onec.dz.
Upon accessing the website, independent candidates must review the registration requirements, enter their academic level verification data, provide information related to their candidacy, and include their personal details. They must also create a personal electronic account with a username and password.
Candidates have the option to activate two-factor authentication (2FA) to enhance the security of their personal data. It is crucial to accurately enter all required information and verify its correctness, recognizing the importance of the registration process. Candidates should retain a copy of the electronic form extracted from the website for registration confirmation, data review, retrieval of convocations, and access to results.
The registration process is exclusively electronic.
