Vietnamese PM Pays Tribute to Algerian War of Independence Martyrs

Algiers, Algeria – The Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh, today paid his respects at the Martyr’s Memorial in Algiers. The Prime Minister observed a moment of silence and laid a wreath at the monument, which commemorates the martyrs of the Algerian War of Independence.

Following the wreath-laying ceremony, Prime Minister Chinh visited the National Museum of the Mujahid, where he received detailed explanations about the various historical periods of Algeria, with a particular focus on the War of Independence.

The Vietnamese Prime Minister arrived in Algiers on Tuesday evening for an official visit scheduled to last until Thursday. This visit aims to strengthen and consolidate the ties of friendship and cooperation between the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The visit is also intended to advance bilateral partnerships in various fields of mutual interest. Discussions are expected on a range of topics, including economic cooperation, cultural exchange, and potential collaborations in sectors such as agriculture and technology.

Algeria and Vietnam share a history of anti-colonial struggle, which forms a strong foundation for their current relationship. This visit underscores the commitment of both nations to further develop their partnership and explore new avenues for cooperation in the years to come.
