Algiers, November 19, 2025 – The National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data will host a study day on November 24th, focusing on the critical challenges of safeguarding personal data in the era of digital transformation. The event will address issues related to cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
According to a statement released by the Authority on Wednesday, the study day, titled “Challenges of Protecting Personal Data in the Digital Age, Cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence,” aims to bring together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss strategies for ensuring data privacy and security in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
The event is particularly timely, given the increasing reliance on digital technologies across various sectors in Algeria. This digital shift presents both opportunities and risks, with the potential for data breaches and misuse of personal information becoming a growing concern.
The study day will feature presentations and panel discussions on a range of topics, including the legal and regulatory framework for data protection, the technical challenges of securing data in the cloud, and the ethical implications of using artificial intelligence in data processing.
Participants will also explore best practices for data governance, risk management, and incident response, as well as strategies for raising public awareness about data privacy rights.
The National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data hopes that the study day will contribute to a more informed and collaborative approach to data protection in Algeria, ensuring that the benefits of digital transformation are realized while safeguarding the fundamental rights of individuals.
The Authority encourages all interested parties to participate in the event and contribute to the ongoing dialogue on data protection and cybersecurity.
