Religious Affairs Minister Inaugurates National Forum for Female Religious Guides

Blida, Algeria – Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Youcef Belmahdi, presided over the opening of the National Forum for Female Religious Guides in Blida during a working visit to the province. The forum, themed “Strengthening and Developing the Role of Female Religious Guidance,” was held at the lecture hall of the Al Kawthar Mosque.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Governor of Blida, Djamel Eddine Hasses, along with local civil and military authorities. More than 100 female religious guides from across Algeria participated in the event, which was facilitated by specialized professors and officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments.

The forum aims to explore strategies for enhancing the effectiveness and impact of female religious guides within Algerian society. Discussions will focus on contemporary challenges and opportunities for religious outreach, as well as methods for promoting interfaith dialogue and understanding. Minister Belmahdi emphasized the crucial role of women in disseminating religious knowledge and fostering a culture of peace and tolerance.

The event includes a series of workshops and lectures designed to equip the religious guides with the necessary skills and knowledge to address the evolving needs of their communities. Experts will provide insights on topics such as family counseling, conflict resolution, and the use of modern communication tools for religious education.

This national forum underscores the Algerian government’s commitment to supporting religious institutions and empowering women in religious leadership roles. The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments plans to implement the recommendations and best practices identified during the forum to improve the quality of religious guidance services throughout the country.
