Algerian Duo Set for Historic PFL Showdowns

Two Algerian fighters are on the cusp of making history as they prepare to compete in the Professional Fighters League (PFL), the world’s second-largest mixed martial arts organization. Yanis Ghemouri and Karim Henine are both vying for regional titles that could propel them onto the global stage.

Ghemouri is scheduled to face Egypt’s Islam Reda on December 5th in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, in a bid to secure the first-ever PFL MENA title for Algeria. Ghemouri stated that his recent training camp was the most intense of his career and that fighting on Arab soil provides him with extra motivation. He is determined to bring the belt home.

Henine will compete on December 20th in PFL Africa against South Africa’s Nkosikhona Ndlebe. His goal is to win the regional title and secure a spot in the PFL global league. He also harbors ambitions to open his own training facility, further contributing to the growth of MMA in Algeria.

Both fighters emphasize that their motivations extend beyond personal achievement. They aim to elevate Algeria’s standing in the international mixed martial arts community and proudly represent their nation. They envision a future where Algeria hosts local PFL MENA tournaments and training programs, fostering the sport’s development within the country. Their success could pave the way for more Algerian fighters to compete on the world stage and solidify Algeria’s position as a rising force in MMA.
