Cairo, November 26, 2025 – Algeria and Egypt have solidified their bilateral partnership with the signing of numerous agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during the 9th session of the Joint Higher Committee held in Cairo today. The signing ceremony was attended by Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Ghrib and Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly.
These agreements span a wide range of sectors, demonstrating a shared commitment to deepen bilateral ties and bolster economic, cultural, and scientific cooperation between the two nations.
The agreements signed encompass various key areas. Notably, a MoU was established between the Algerian Accreditation Body and the Egyptian National Accreditation Council. Further collaboration was formalized in the fields of housing, urban development, and city planning.
Educational and agricultural cooperation also received a boost with a MoU between the National Higher School of Agronomic Engineering in Algeria and the Egyptian Agricultural Research Center, as well as an agreement between Ahmed Draia University of Adrar and Al-Azhar University.
In the institutional sphere, a MoU was signed between the Algerian Ministry of Relations with Parliament and its Egyptian counterpart responsible for parliamentary, legal, and political communication affairs.
Furthermore, an executive program for cooperation between the Ministries of Youth of both countries was agreed upon for the years 2026-2027, alongside a similar program in the field of sports for the same period.
Cultural exchange was also prioritized, with the signing of an executive program for cooperation in the field of culture between the respective Ministries of Culture for the years 2025-2028. Additionally, a MoU was established between the Algiers Opera and the National Cultural Center – the Egyptian Opera House.
Cooperation in the area of archives was strengthened through a MoU between the Directorate General of the National Archives and the General Authority for the Egyptian National Library and Archives. Agreements were also reached in the field of local development between the Algerian Ministry of Interior and Local Communities and the Egyptian Ministry of Local Development, as well as a memorandum concerning cooperation in international exhibitions and markets between the Algerian Company of Fairs and Exports and the Egyptian General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences.
