Attaf Calls for African Solutions at Oran Process Meeting

Algiers – Ahmed Attaf, Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, today urged participants in the “Oran Process” to seize the opportunity to forge African-led solutions to the continent’s pressing challenges. Speaking at the International Conference Center in Algiers, Minister Attaf emphasized the need for renewed commitment and intensified efforts to address Africa’s multifaceted issues.

The Minister’s call came during a high-level seminar on peace and security in Africa, hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad. The “Oran Process,” a framework for dialogue and cooperation, aims to promote peace, security, and development across the African continent. Attaf underscored the importance of African ownership in resolving regional conflicts and fostering sustainable development. He highlighted the need to move beyond reliance on external actors and to empower African nations to take the lead in shaping their own destinies.

“It is imperative that we, as Africans, take responsibility for addressing the challenges facing our continent,” Attaf stated. “The Oran Process provides a valuable platform for us to come together, share experiences, and develop innovative solutions that are tailored to the specific needs of our communities.”

The Minister further emphasized the importance of strengthening intra-African cooperation and fostering greater solidarity among member states.
