Algeria Showcases Agricultural Prowess at Oman International Exhibition

Muscat, Oman – The 7th edition of the Oman International Agriculture Exhibition was inaugurated today at the Muscat Convention and Exhibition Centre, with Algeria participating as a guest of honor. The event, running from December 1st to 3rd, 2025, saw a strong Algerian presence led by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Yacine Oualid.

Minister Oualid, alongside Oman’s Minister of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources, Saud Al Habsi, and His Excellency Sheikh Al Fadl bin Mohammed Al Harthy, Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, officiated the opening ceremony. Eighteen Algerian exhibitors are showcasing their products and innovations at the prestigious regional event.

The Oman International Agriculture Exhibition serves as a vital platform for stakeholders and professionals from across the region and the globe. It provides a space to display the latest advancements in food, agriculture, fisheries, aquaculture, and food processing technologies. The exhibition aims to foster collaboration, trade, and investment between governments, companies, and experts at both regional and international levels.

During his visit, Minister Oualid was received by His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs of Oman. Discussions focused on the strong bilateral relations between Algeria and Oman and explored avenues to strengthen partnership and cooperation across various sectors. Both sides expressed their desire to implement practical partnerships and exchange expertise in areas of mutual interest, reflecting the positive momentum in bilateral ties.

Furthermore, Minister Oualid held a working session with Minister Saud Al Habsi, leading delegations from both countries. The meeting centered on enhancing partnership and cooperation in agriculture, fisheries, and aquaculture. Opportunities for building robust and mutually beneficial economic partnerships, implementing joint investment projects, and exchanging experiences, particularly in areas such as marine fisheries, aquaculture, desert agriculture, and processing industries, were explored.

To further activate the bilateral partnership, particularly in investment and trade, both parties agreed to organize a forum for Algerian and Omani business leaders tomorrow. The aim is to explore joint investment opportunities and develop value-added projects. This initiative underscores the commitment of both nations to strengthening economic ties and fostering sustainable growth in the agricultural sector.
