Algiers, Algeria – Algeria and Egypt have reaffirmed their commitment to continued coordination regarding ongoing crises across the African continent. This commitment was underscored during a meeting held in Algiers on Tuesday.
The State Secretary to the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of African Affairs, Salama Bakhata Mansouri, received the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abu Bakr Hafni. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 12th High-Level Seminar on Peace and Security in Africa, also known as the ‘Oran Process’.
According to a statement released by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting served as an opportunity to emphasize the strong historical ties that bind the two nations and their respective populations. Both parties highlighted the advanced pace of bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
Furthermore, the Algerian and Egyptian officials engaged in a comprehensive exchange of views on a number of African issues of mutual interest. Both sides stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination and consultation concerning the various crises unfolding across the African continent. This collaborative approach aims to foster stability and security within the region.
The discussions reflect the ongoing efforts by both Algeria and Egypt to play a constructive role in addressing challenges and promoting peace throughout Africa.
