Air Algérie Anticipates Surge in International Passenger Traffic

Air Algérie projects a significant increase in international passenger traffic, estimating 8.5 million passengers by the end of 2025. This forecast follows a year where the airline transported approximately 8 million passengers internationally.

Hamza Benhamouda, the CEO of Air Algérie, stated that the company has substantially increased its flight frequency to accommodate growing demand. During the past summer, the airline operated over 320 flights daily, a considerable increase compared to the 230 flights during the same period last year.

This expansion in flight operations, while catering to increased demand, resulted in some scheduling disruptions. However, Benhamouda assured that the arrival of newly acquired aircraft will gradually alleviate these issues.

“We aim to reach 8.5 million international passengers in 2025,” Benhamouda noted, excluding domestic passenger figures. The domestic airline is expected to serve 1.5 million passengers, addressing the heightened demand for air travel, particularly during peak seasons and tourist periods.

Air Algérie is also focused on improving its services and pricing strategies. Efforts are underway to broaden promotional offers, enabling both Algerians residing within the country and abroad to travel to and from Algeria at reasonable fares. These efforts will not compromise passenger comfort or, most importantly, their safety.

Furthermore, strategic commercial agreements with leading global airlines are expected to bolster the company’s growth and diversify its offerings to better serve customers. Benhamouda emphasized that this aligns with the national carrier’s role, which Air Algérie undertakes with pride and a commitment to providing the best possible prices to its clientele, thanks to sustained state support and the dedication of its employees.

Air Algérie is committed to continuous improvement and meeting the evolving needs of its passengers.
