Increased Israeli Aggression Reported in Southern Lebanon

Israeli forces intensified their attacks on towns and villages in Southern Lebanon on Thursday evening, according to field reports. The incidents mark a concerning escalation in the region.

According to sources, an Israeli drone dropped a sonic bomb in the town of Adayseh, South Lebanon. A separate drone reportedly deployed a sonic bomb near fishermen on the coast of Naqoura. These actions have raised concerns about the safety of civilians in the area.

Furthermore, Israeli warplanes conducted an airstrike on the town of Baraachit. A drone also launched two missiles targeting the outskirts of Deirmimas and the vicinity of Tallet El Aaziyé. These attacks represent a significant increase in the intensity of Israeli military activity.

In related developments, Israeli artillery targeted the peripheries of the towns of Yaroun and Rmeish with three shells. Additionally, Israeli army positions in Radar and Rweissat Al Alam opened fire with heavy machine guns towards the outskirts of Shebaa and Kfarchouba. The peripheries of Al-Dahira and Yarine were also reportedly targeted by Israeli artillery.

DZWatch has previously reported on the ceasefire agreement implemented on November 27, 2024, which mandated the withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern border villages and towns within 60 days. The Lebanese government subsequently agreed to extend the deadline until February 18th. However, the Israeli army remains stationed in five locations, and these latest incidents suggest a continuation of violations of the ceasefire agreement. The ongoing presence of Israeli troops and the recent increase in attacks are causing growing tensions in the region.

DZWatch will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as they become available.
