Algiers, December 6, 2025 – Sixty-one projects initiated by university students across Algeria have been approved for funding, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced today. The funding was granted by the Committee for the Selection, Approval, and Funding of Projects (CSVF), a body established to support and empower young university students in the fields of entrepreneurship and business creation.
According to a ministry statement, the approved projects represent the outcome of evaluations conducted between November 24th and December 4th. Students from 18 universities and 5 higher education institutions successfully secured the committee’s confidence and obtained funding for their micro-enterprises.
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Bedari, hailed the achievement as “a national accomplishment for the Algerian university system, reflecting the spirit of innovation, belief in initiative, and ambition that characterizes our promising university youth.” He emphasized the importance of fostering a supportive ecosystem for student entrepreneurs.
The projects selected for funding span a diverse range of sectors, including agriculture, industry, freelance professions, healthcare, construction and public works, textiles and clothing, plastics manufacturing, food processing, and medicine and dentistry. This diverse portfolio highlights the breadth of talent and innovative ideas emerging from Algerian universities.
This initiative aims to encourage students to translate their academic knowledge into practical, real-world applications, contributing to the diversification of the Algerian economy and the creation of new job opportunities. The ministry reiterated its commitment to providing ongoing support and mentorship to these young entrepreneurs as they embark on their business ventures. The success of these projects is expected to inspire other students and further promote a culture of entrepreneurship within the university system. The CSVF will continue to evaluate and support promising student-led initiatives in the coming months.
