Algiers, December 6, 2025 – Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Micro-enterprises, Noureddine Wahid, has emphasized the critical need for African nations to unite their efforts to accelerate the development of a robust innovation ecosystem across the continent and bolster its entrepreneurial landscape.
Speaking at the opening of the fourth edition of the African Startups Conference today, Saturday, Minister Wahid asserted that “Africa’s talents and startups are capable of transforming its future.”
“Africa is changing,” he stated. “Its talents and startups are now empowered to reshape the continent’s future through economic growth that contributes to the global innovation landscape and full integration into the global digital economy.”
Regarding the conference, the Minister highlighted the significance of this continental event, which, since its inaugural edition in 2022, has become “a pivotal event in the field of innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology development, and a central forum for dialogue between decision-makers and key players in the African innovation ecosystem.”
Wahid further noted that the event serves as “a strategic space where crucial trends and partnerships are forged, creating opportunities and shaping the continent’s digital and sovereign future.”
Prime Minister Sifi Ghrib inaugurated the fourth edition of the African Startups Conference, held at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center. The three-day event hosts over 25,000 participants and approximately 35 ministerial delegations, with Rwanda featured as the guest of honor.
