Algiers – The Ministry of Justice has announced a series of intensive training programs designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of judges and legal professionals. These initiatives, scheduled from December 7th to 11th, 2025, reflect the Ministry’s commitment to continuous professional development within the judicial sector.
A key component of this program is a training session specifically tailored for newly appointed court presidents. This session, running from December 7th to 11th, 2025, at the Higher Judicial School, will involve 26 judges. The primary objective is to equip them with the necessary tools and insights to effectively manage their courts and navigate the evolving legal landscape.
The overarching goal of these training programs is to strengthen the capabilities of judges, update their knowledge base, and keep them abreast of the latest legislative and regulatory developments.
In addition to domestic initiatives, the Ministry is also engaging in international collaborations. In partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Algeria, one judge will participate in a training course in Doha, Qatar. This course, scheduled from December 8th to 11th, 2025, focuses on the “Legal Aspects of Digital Evidence” and will be held at the UN Regional Center for Combating Cybercrime in Doha.
Furthermore, in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Algeria, two judges and one official from the central administration will participate in a training program on “Migration Data Management, International Methods and Practices” on December 7th and 8th, 2025, in Algiers. This training aims to enhance the skills of officials by exploring international best practices for data collection and management in the context of migration governance.
Finally, as part of the UNFPA-UNODC project to support Algeria’s response in combating violence against women and girls, three judges will participate in a training workshop on “Tools and Good Practices for Preventing Recidivism in the Penal Environment for Inmates Committing Crimes of Violence Against Women and Girls” on December 8th and 9th, 2025, at the “Atlantis” Hotel in Bouzareah. This comprehensive training agenda underscores the Ministry of Justice’s dedication to fostering a highly skilled and informed judiciary, capable of addressing the complex legal challenges of today.
