Khenchela, Algeria – Algeria has developed “significant expertise” in the construction of power generation plants, positioning the nation to enter African markets, according to Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mourad Adjjal. The Minister made the announcement today in Khenchela.
Adjjal highlighted the country’s growing capabilities in the energy sector, emphasizing that the accumulated knowledge and experience gained through various projects have equipped Algerian engineers and technicians with the skills necessary to undertake similar projects across the continent.
“We have invested heavily in developing our domestic capacity for power plant construction,” Adjjal stated. “This investment is now paying off, not only in meeting our own energy needs but also in creating opportunities for Algerian companies to expand their operations into new markets.”
The Minister further added that the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies is actively exploring opportunities for collaboration with other African nations in the energy sector. These collaborations could involve the construction of new power plants, the modernization of existing infrastructure, and the sharing of technical expertise.
This development marks a significant step for Algeria’s energy sector, transforming it from a primarily resource-exporting nation to a provider of technical services and expertise. The move is expected to create new jobs, boost economic growth, and strengthen Algeria’s position as a regional leader in the energy industry. The focus now shifts towards identifying and securing viable projects in African countries and ensuring that Algerian companies are well-positioned to compete effectively in these markets.
