Algiers, December 13, 2025 – Minister of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, Abdelhak Saihi, chaired a key evaluation meeting at the Ministry headquarters this Thursday, focusing on the National Labor Institute’s performance and future development.
The meeting, dedicated to charting the Institute’s progress and aligning it with modern industry standards, featured a comprehensive presentation by the Director-General. The presentation included a detailed annual review encompassing specialized training programs for industry workers, public and private sector employees, and research activities in the field of labor. The Director-General also outlined the 2026 action plan, emphasizing the integration of modern technology into the training system, expanding online training opportunities, and enhancing studies to keep pace with the evolving labor market.
Minister Saihi issued a series of practical instructions and directives aimed at bolstering the Institute’s effectiveness and adapting it to digital transformations. Key among these was the expansion of training programs to encompass various worker categories and management personnel across all regions. He stressed the need to strengthen specialized training tailored to the specific needs of the sector, considering the unique characteristics of each institution and all supervised bodies.
The Minister also emphasized prioritizing online training programs and interactive digital platforms to ensure training accessibility in remote areas and promote flexible learning. Saihi urged a shift towards modern management methods, moving away from traditional administrative approaches and embracing modern information systems for training and pedagogical file management. He further advocated for developing digital platforms for registration, evaluation, and pedagogical monitoring to ensure transparency and improve service quality.
Furthermore, the Minister ordered the digitization of archives and data related to studies and labor market databases. He also emphasized supporting supervised bodies and strengthening institutional integration through training to address organizational and structural challenges. Minister Saihi highlighted the need to develop consultation and cooperation mechanisms between the Institute and other central and decentralized structures to ensure coherence in public labor policies. He also underscored the pivotal role of the National Labor Institute in preparing and implementing specialized training programs for sector employees, employing modern scientific and pedagogical approaches, and renovating the Institute’s headquarters and modernizing its equipment.
