Providence, Rhode Island – A tragic shooting at Brown University has left two people dead and eight others seriously injured. The incident prompted a lockdown of the campus and a large-scale police response.
Providence Mayor Brett Smiley confirmed the casualties and announced a curfew in the vicinity of the university. He stated that the shooter remains at large, and authorities are actively pursuing all leads.

The shooting occurred in the Barus and Holley building, which houses the engineering and physics departments, where several exams were scheduled. Brown University, an Ivy League institution renowned for its academic excellence, has an enrollment of approximately 11,000 students.
