Algiers, December 17, 2025 – Chad is looking to Algeria’s experience in the hydrocarbons and mining sectors to help unlock its own potential in these key areas. This was highlighted during a meeting held at the Government Palace on Wednesday between Prime Minister Sifi Grib and Chad’s Minister of Petroleum, Mines, and Geology, Ndolenodji Alixe Naïmbaye.
Minister Naïmbaye delivered a written message to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune from Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno. The discussions provided an opportunity to acknowledge the fraternal and solidarity-based relations between the two nations and to review prospects for bilateral cooperation in the fields of hydrocarbons, energy, and mining.
The Chadian Minister expressed her satisfaction with the outcomes of her visit to Algeria and the cooperation prospects outlined by both sides. She emphasized Chad’s keen interest in benefiting from Algeria’s expertise and its desire to build a strong bilateral partnership in the energy and mining sectors. “We believe that Algeria’s experience will be invaluable as we seek to develop our own resources,” she stated.
Prime Minister Grib reaffirmed Algeria’s readiness to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Chad across all sectors and to support Chad’s efforts in developing its hydrocarbons, energy, and mining industries. This commitment, he noted, is in line with the shared vision of President Tebboune and President Déby Itno, as expressed during their meeting last September on the sidelines of the Intra-African Trade Fair held in Algiers.
The meeting was also attended by the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab. This collaboration aims to further cement the relationship between the two countries, and leverage Algeria’s vast experience for the benefit of Chad’s burgeoning resources sector.
