Algeria is facing organized hostile campaigns aimed at undermining trust between the state and its citizens, according to Abdelkrim Benmbarek, Secretary-General of the National Liberation Front (FLN). Benmbarek made the remarks Friday during his supervision of the third training session for media officers.
Benmbarek stated that these campaigns are being led by parties disturbed by Algeria’s unprecedented progress across various sectors. He accused these actors of seeking to cast doubt on the nation’s achievements, spread frustration, and erode the crucial bond between the government and the people.
The FLN leader called for heightened awareness, discipline, and a responsible media campaign to expose false claims and reveal the ‘dirty’ information warfare targeting the country. He emphasized that silence or negligence in this context is tantamount to unacceptable complicity.
‘The current stage demands full mobilization and sincere engagement in the battle to defend the nation,’ Benmbarek asserted. He stressed the need to fortify the internal front, clearly align with the state’s choices, and prioritize Algeria’s higher interests and the sacrifices of its martyrs.
Benmbarek’s comments highlight growing concerns about external influences seeking to destabilize Algeria and undermine its progress on both the domestic and international fronts. The FLN, as the country’s ruling party, is taking a strong stance against what it perceives as coordinated efforts to sow discord and weaken national unity.
