Bouanani Aims for 2026 World Cup Spot with Algeria

Algerian international Badredine Bouanani, currently playing for VfB Stuttgart in Germany, has expressed his strong desire to secure a permanent place in the national team and participate in the 2026 World Cup finals.

The winger revealed his ambitions, stating that his disappointment at not being called up for the recent Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) served as extra motivation to continue working hard and improving. “Initially, I felt disappointed for not being selected to participate in the AFCON, but this experience gave me extra strength to come back even better. Playing for Algeria is a great honor for me, and my real dream is to participate in the World Cup,” Bouanani said.

Regarding the remainder of the season with his German club, Bouanani emphasized his focus on contributing on the field, both through performance and scoring goals, while highlighting the importance of teamwork and gradual development. “We are in a good position in various competitions, and the second half of the season will be full of challenges. I want to contribute to the team’s success and be an influential player,” he stated.

Bouanani also revealed that he closely follows the playing styles of several stars who occupy similar positions to his, such as Paulo Dybala and Riyad Mahrez, to learn from their experience and improve his personal level. “I watch their playing style a lot, especially Mahrez, who I know from the national team. We have good communication, and I make sure to do extra training to improve both my left and right feet, so that I am more flexible and difficult for opponents,” he explained.

The young player concluded by stressing that commitment and discipline are the foundation for achieving his goals, both in his career with Stuttgart and with the Algerian national team. “Discipline is key to success,” Bouanani added. “I will continue to work hard to achieve my dreams.”
