Tunis, Tunisia – Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, was received by Tunisian President Kais Saied earlier today as part of his official visit to Tunisia. The meeting took place on the sidelines of Minister Attaf’s participation in the Tripartite Mechanism Ministerial Meeting of Libya’s Neighboring Countries.
During the meeting, Minister Attaf conveyed the greetings of his brother, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to the Tunisian President, affirming Algeria’s commitment to continued coordination and joint action with Tunisia. This collaboration, he emphasized, reflects the deep fraternal relations and embodies the integrated vision shared by the leaderships of both countries regarding the future of bilateral partnership.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to review the reality and prospects of Algerian-Tunisian cooperation, particularly in light of the significant outcomes of the 23rd session of the Joint High Commission between the two countries. Both sides stressed the need to expedite the implementation of these outcomes through practical projects and tangible achievements that enhance the positive dynamics of bilateral relations.
Regarding the situation in Libya, emphasis was placed on the strategic importance of the Tripartite Mechanism of Neighboring Countries, which is holding its new meeting in Tunisia. It was highlighted as a fundamental framework for consultation and coordination aimed at supporting the Libyan people, assisting them in overcoming their crisis, and preserving the sovereignty, unity, and independence of their country.
This meeting underscores the level of political convergence between Algeria and Tunisia and reaffirms the pivotal role played by both countries in consolidating stability and promoting peaceful solutions in the region.
