Algerian international star Riyad Mahrez is reportedly a top transfer target for Turkish giants Fenerbahce, with the club actively pursuing the Al-Ahli Jeddah winger ahead of the summer transfer window, dzwatch has learned.
Fenerbahce’s management has already initiated negotiations with Mahrez’s representatives, with the former Manchester City star believed to be open to a return to European football next season. The Turkish club sees Mahrez as the ideal solution to reinforce their right wing position, having concluded that their current options fail to meet long-term ambitions.
Mahrez, who has enjoyed an outstanding season with Al-Ahli, scoring 7 goals and delivering 13 assists across 36 appearances, follows a path similar to N’Golo Kante, who left Jeddah for Fenerbahce last winter.
Al-Ahli’s management faces the challenge of convincing their captain to honor his contract until summer 2027, given his crucial role under German coach Matthias Jaissle in both domestic and continental competitions.
