Kuwait City Direct Route Expands Air Algérie Network

Air Algérie has officially confirmed plans to establish a new direct air link to Kuwait City, signifying a further expansion of its international network. The Algerian Ambassador to Kuwait, Omar Belhadj, announced that discussions are underway to launch this direct connection, which is anticipated to facilitate economic and tourist exchanges between the two nations. This initiative is also expected to benefit the Algerian community residing in Kuwait and investors, while opening new avenues for bilateral cooperation. High-level deliberations, involving the finance ministers of both countries, are reportedly being prepared to finalize the project.

The introduction of the Kuwait City route is scheduled for the upcoming winter season, with operations set to commence in October. Specifically, Air Algérie plans to integrate Kuwait into its existing Amman route starting October 26, forming a triangular service from Algiers to Kuwait, then Amman, and back to Algiers. This weekly flight will be operated on Mondays using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The restructuring will additionally enhance connectivity to Amman, increasing the total number of weekly flights to three. Kuwait City marks the fifth new international destination recently confirmed by the national carrier, following the additions of Brazzaville, Conakry, Lagos, and Tripoli.

While reservations for other newly announced routes like Brazzaville, Conakry, and Lagos are already accessible, the Kuwait City service is not yet available for booking. Ambassador Belhadj also acknowledged the attention given by Kuwait to the Algerian community within its territory and urged members of the diaspora to continue adhering to local laws and regulations. The embassy, he affirmed, is committed to maintaining dialogue and addressing the needs of Algerians abroad.
