Civil Protection Mobilizes Extensive Resources Against Forest Fires

Algerian Civil Protection services, in coordination with local authorities and other relevant entities, are currently engaged in extensive field operations to manage and control numerous forest fires reported across various wilayas. These concerted efforts involve the deployment of substantial human and material resources, primarily aimed at curbing the spread of the fires and safeguarding both residents and their properties from potential harm.

The response capabilities include specialized aerial assets such as the Mi-26 firefighting helicopter and AT-802 and BE-200 firefighting aircraft, which are strategically utilized according to the nature and progression of each fire. Complementing these airborne operations, ground interventions are conducted by Civil Protection's mobile convoys, forming a comprehensive strategy tailored to the specific demands of each incident.

To further enhance coordination and unify rapid response efforts, the ORSEC emergency plan has been activated by wilaya governors whenever deemed necessary. Civil Protection services and local authorities maintain continuous on-site monitoring, consistently reinforcing intervention methods and adapting them to the evolving fire situations until full control is established. The overriding priority throughout these operations remains the protection of lives, the preservation of property, and the mitigation of any potential losses.
