Béjaia Abane Ramdane Airport Expands Parking to Eight Stands

Works are progressing on the extension of the aircraft parking area at Béjaia Abane Ramdane airport, with a significant phase recently completed. This involved the placement and compacting of the sub-base layer, a crucial technical step preceding the final road surface construction for aircraft. The project is designed to significantly enhance the airport's infrastructure.
Upon completion, the airport's aircraft parking capacity will double, expanding from four to eight stands. This substantial increase is intended to allow the airport to manage a greater number of aircraft concurrently and improve the organization of ground movements. Such an upgrade is vital for efficient operations, particularly during periods of high activity.
The expansion is an integral part of a broader modernization effort for Béjaia airport, aligning with the growing air traffic in the wilaya. It aims to provide enhanced capacity and flexibility, serving the travel needs of local residents and bolstering tourist activity in the region. Furthermore, Béjaia Abane Ramdane airport holds a key position in facilitating travel between Béjaia and France, catering to the strong demand from the Algerian diaspora, with multiple airlines including Air Algérie, ASL Airlines, Transavia, and Volotea operating these routes. The increased parking capacity will provide additional operational margins to support the airport's evolving activity and future growth in both air traffic and tourism.
