Presidential Patronage for Cancer Congress in Algeria

Professor Mohamed Seddik Ait Massaoudan, Algeria's Minister of Health, officially inaugurated the Second International Cancer Congress. This significant event, organized by the Algerian Federation of Cancer Patients' Associations in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, operates under the distinguished patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The congress convenes under the guiding principle, “The patient at the heart of a comprehensive national approach to cancer control.”

According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, the congress is designed to implement this comprehensive national strategy for combating cancer. Key objectives include activating an African continental dimension, drawing insights from international expertise, and prioritizing both patient care and preventive measures within the national strategy. The initiative also seeks to highlight and value the crucial role played by civil society organizations in these efforts.
