Algiers – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received a congratulatory phone call from his Egyptian counterpart, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, following his re-election for a second term as President of Algeria, according to a statement released by the Algerian presidency on Thursday.
The statement read: “President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received a phone call from his brother, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, congratulating him and the Algerian people on his re-election as President, wishing him success in his new term.”
The phone conversation also provided an opportunity for both leaders to discuss future cooperation and ways to enhance bilateral relations. They agreed to meet in person soon to further strengthen ties.
In response, President Tebboune expressed his gratitude to President El-Sisi for his kind sentiments, wishing him success and extending his best wishes for continued prosperity and progress to the Egyptian people.
