Algeria and Singapore are taking concrete steps to deepen their collaboration in the energy sector. On Wednesday, Algeria’s Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, hosted Singapore’s Ambassador to Algeria, Mohamed Alami Moussa, at the ministry’s headquarters to discuss bilateral relations and explore further cooperation.
Positive Developments in Algeria-Singapore Relations
Both parties praised the excellent ties between the two nations and expressed satisfaction with the continuous progress in their relations. The discussions evaluated the current state of bilateral cooperation and identified opportunities for further development in energy, mining, and renewable energy sectors.
Minister Arkab highlighted the success of Algeria’s state-owned energy company, Sonatrach, in fostering robust trade relations with Singaporean companies, particularly in the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) sector.

During the meeting, Minister Arkab presented a comprehensive overview of Algeria’s strategic energy and mining development programs. He outlined major investment opportunities in hydrocarbons, photovoltaic solar energy, and the development of hydrogen as a sustainable and clean energy source.
“These sectors represent significant areas of potential cooperation that align with Algeria’s commitment to fostering renewable and green energy solutions,” Arkab stated.
Commitment to Knowledge Exchange and Mutual Benefit
The Algerian and Singaporean representatives reiterated their determination to establish a partnership rooted in mutual benefit. This partnership aims to include knowledge transfer, expertise sharing, and training in various relevant fields.
To solidify this collaboration, both parties agreed to organize expert-level meetings to explore detailed avenues for cooperation and develop practical mechanisms for implementation.
