Algeria – The President of the Constitutional Court, Mr. Omar Belhadj, received the final report on Wednesday regarding the election of constitutional law professors as members of the Constitutional Court. The report was presented by the Chairman of the National Electoral Committee at the National Conference of Universities, as stated in an official communiqué from the Constitutional Court.
The statement read:
“On the morning of Wednesday, the President of the Constitutional Court, Mr. Omar Belhadj, welcomed the Chairman of the National Electoral Committee at the National Conference of Universities, accompanied by committee members. During this meeting, the final report on the election of constitutional law professors as members of the Constitutional Court, conducted as part of the semi-annual renewal process on December 7, 2024, was formally handed over.”
This development reflects the continued effort to enhance the institutional framework of the Constitutional Court through academic expertise, ensuring its role in upholding constitutional principles and the rule of law in Algeria.
