Algiers, Algeria – The Algerian national football team is set to face Mozambique in March 2025 at the Hussein Aït Ahmed Stadium in Tizi Ouzou, during the sixth round of Group G in the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has announced.
FAF’s Statement on Upcoming Matches
In a statement, FAF outlined the schedule for Algeria’s matches during the FIFA international window from March 17 to 25, 2025:
- Match 1: Algeria will travel to face Botswana.
- Match 2: Algeria will host Mozambique at the Hussein Aït Ahmed Stadium in Tizi Ouzou.
This marks a key phase in the qualifiers, as both fixtures are critical for the Desert Foxes’ path to the World Cup.
Group G Standings
After four rounds, Algeria shares the top spot in Group G with Mozambique, both holding 9 points. Botswana, Guinea, and Uganda are three points behind, while Somalia remains at the bottom with no points.

The FAF reaffirmed its moral and material support for the national team, emphasizing its commitment to achieving qualification goals.
About the Venue
The Hussein Aït Ahmed Stadium, inaugurated in July 2024, is one of Algeria’s most modern sporting facilities. It previously hosted the national team’s friendly match against Liberia, which ended in a 5-1 victory on November 17, 2024, as part of the concluding round of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers (postponed to 2025).
