The African National Olympic Committees Association (ACNOA) awarded President Abdelmadjid Tebboune the gold medal in recognition of his support for the success of the first edition of the African School Games, held in Algeria from July 26 to August 5, 2025. The ceremony took place on Tuesday evening at the 19 May 1956 Stadium in Annaba. The honor was presented by Sports Minister Walid Sadi, Minister of National Education Mohamed Sghir Saadawi, and Minister of Youth and Head of the National Youth Council Mustafa Hidaoui. The award was given on behalf of the African Olympic Movement, acknowledging the President’s decision to return to school sports to discover young talents early. The African officials expressed their deep gratitude to President Tebboune for his efforts in supporting young African athletes, emphasizing that the event helped establish a solid foundation in Algeria for nurturing and guiding these talents to become shining stars who will make Africa proud.
