Algiers – President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, urged the government on Sunday to focus on fulfilling its responsibilities with the utmost seriousness, while ordering the preparation of sectoral work plans to be presented at upcoming meetings of the Council of Ministers.
Chairing a session of the Council of Ministers, the Head of State emphasized the need for government performance to be guided by efficiency and effectiveness, with every minister excelling within his or her field and adopting a practical approach to managing public affairs.
President Tebboune also instructed the new government team to draw lessons from past experiences and to continue implementing measures that have proven effective in serving citizens. He stressed that Algeria, thanks to the efforts of its people, is moving steadily toward stability and therefore requires unity and full coordination among government members to ensure resilience across all sectors. This, he underlined, is key to earning credibility with public opinion through concrete solutions that reinforce national unity.
The President further highlighted the importance of placing citizens and their concerns at the core of national priorities, urging the adoption of lasting and definitive solutions to their issues. He clarified that Algeria’s path forward is not one of austerity, but of intelligent governance, which lies at the heart of the presidential project aimed at elevating the country into the ranks of emerging nations. This will be achieved, he said, by ensuring qualitative progress in social and economic development.
Within this framework, President Tebboune ordered members of the government to coordinate closely with the Prime Minister, whom he described as the essential link in executive action, while preparing detailed sectoral reports and work plans to be submitted to the Council of Ministers in its upcoming sessions.
