Heavy Thunderstorms Expected Across 16 Algerian Provinces

Algiers, Algeria – Several provinces across Algeria are bracing for heavy thunderstorms, according to a special weather alert issued earlier today. The national weather service anticipates continued unsettled weather patterns lasting until 9:00 PM local time.

The alert specifically names the following provinces as being affected: El Tarf, Annaba, Skikda, Guelma, Souk Ahras, Constantine, Mila, Jijel, Bejaia, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Tizi Ouzou, Bouira, Boumerdes, Blida, Tipaza, and Algiers.

Rainfall amounts are expected to range between 20 and 50 millimeters locally. In some coastal and inland areas, the storms may be accompanied by thunder and strong winds. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions during this period of inclement weather.
