Algeria’s Ministry of Interior and Local Communities has announced that it has mobilized all resources to ensure a smooth start to the 2023-2024 school year.
In a speech at a ceremony to distribute 60 school buses from Sonatrach, the national oil and gas company, Interior Minister Ibrahim Mourad said that the ministry has worked to ensure that all logistical arrangements are in place.
Mourad revealed that many educational facilities have been completed ahead of schedule, and that 18,555 school buses will be deployed by municipalities.
He added that the ministry has allocated 6 billion dinars ($50 million) to cover maintenance costs and to rent additional buses as needed to transport students
