ES Sétif, one of Algeria’s most successful football clubs, has appointed French coach Frank Dumas as its new manager. Dumas, 53, replaces Abderkader Omarani, who was fired after a disappointing season in which Sétif finished third in the Algerian Ligue 1.

Dumas is a well-respected figure in African football. He has coached several clubs in the continent, including TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which he led to two Confederation Cup titles in 2016 and 2017. He also coached Egyptian club Al-Zamalek, which he led to the Egyptian Super Cup in 2016.

Dumas is expected to lead Sétif back to the top of Algerian and African football. The club has won two African Cups of Champions in its history, in 1989 and 2000.

Dumas will be assisted by former Sétif player and coach Slimane Rahou. Rahou is a club legend, having played for Sétif from 1989 to 2000. He has since coached several Algerian clubs, including JS Kabylie and MC Oran.

The appointment of Dumas and Rahou is a major coup for Sétif. The duo has the experience and talent to lead the club to success.
