Director General of Algerian National Security Visits the United States for Bilateral Police Cooperation

The Director General of Algeria’s National Security, Mr. Ali Badawi, is currently on a working visit to the United States, accompanied by senior officials from the Directorate General of National Security, as part of an initiative to bolster Algerian-American bilateral police cooperation.

This strategic visit aims to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise and experiences in combating transnational organized crime. The delegation is particularly focused on learning about the latest operational tactics and methods employed in crime fighting, as outlined in an official statement from the security body.

During his visit, Mr. Badawi met with James Smith, the Director of the New York Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The meeting facilitated a discussion on various challenges and issues related to police work. The Algerian Ambassador to Washington and the U.S. Ambassador to Algeria were also present, emphasizing the diplomatic importance of the visit.

The collaboration is expected to lead to improved crime fighting techniques and strategies in Algeria, further strengthening the country’s capabilities in managing national and transnational security threats.
