Spanish Prime Minister Concludes Working and Friendship Visit to Algeria

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez left Algeria on Monday after completing a working and friendship visit aimed at strengthening relations between the two Mediterranean countries.
Upon his departure from Houari Boumediene International Airport, Sánchez was seen off by Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb. He was accompanied by Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad and African Affairs Ahmed Attaf, as well as Minister of State and Minister of Hydrocarbons Mohamed Arkab.
Also present at the airport were Amar Abba, adviser to the President of the Republic responsible for diplomatic affairs, and Algeria’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, Abdel Fattah Daghmoum.
During his visit, the Spanish Prime Minister was officially received by President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The two leaders held discussions focused on the state of bilateral relations and the prospects for expanding cooperation between Algeria and Spain.
The visit provided an important opportunity for both sides to exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest. Discussions also addressed ways to consolidate political dialogue and develop partnerships in several strategic areas.
The meeting reflected the shared determination of the Algerian and Spanish leaders to continue building a stable and mutually beneficial relationship based on dialogue, mutual respect and common interests.
Algeria and Spain maintain important political, economic and geographical ties, and both countries have repeatedly expressed their willingness to deepen cooperation across the Mediterranean.
Sánchez’s visit was therefore seen as another step toward opening a new phase in bilateral relations and reinforcing coordination between Algiers and Madrid.
The two countries aim to strengthen their partnership in a manner that supports economic development, regional stability and closer cooperation between their institutions and peoples.
The conclusion of the visit confirmed the commitment of Algeria and Spain to maintaining regular high-level dialogue and advancing relations in ways that serve the interests of both nations.
