Niger Prime Minister Visits Algiers for Two-Day Talks

Nigerien Prime Minister Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine arrived in Algiers on Wednesday evening, leading a high-level ministerial delegation for a two-day working visit. He was welcomed at Houari Boumediene International Airport by Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb, who was accompanied by several government members. The visit is specifically aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and partnership between Algeria and Niger.

This engagement reflects a growing dynamic in relations between Algiers and Niamey, embodying the shared commitment of both countries' leaders, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and General Abdourahamane Tiani, to revitalize bilateral cooperation and expand it into new areas. A key objective is to build a renewed and effective partnership that will contribute to development, stability, cooperation, and regional integration across the African continent.

The current visit follows Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb's trip to Niger on August 13, during which he oversaw the official launch of drilling operations for the 'Kafra South East 1' exploratory oil well in the Agadez region, a project managed by Sonatrach. This intensified cooperation between the two nations strategically focuses on economic, energy, and infrastructure sectors, further reinforcing Algeria's proactive approach to regional development and its prominent presence within its African environment.
