High Council Unveils Roster of 27 Eminent Scientists

The High Council for the National Scientific Community Abroad has officially unveiled the comprehensive list of its 27 members. This advisory body, which President Abdelmadjid Tebboune recently received, is composed of an elite group of Algerian scientific competencies who are internationally recognized for their contributions across several vital domains. The council aims to leverage this eminent expertise for national development.

The diverse specialties of the council members span a wide range of scientific and technical fields. These include biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, civil engineering, mathematics and physics, biology, geophysics, medicine, logistics, environmental sciences, computer science, artificial intelligence, chemistry, immunology, and animal production. This breadth of expertise underscores the council's capacity to address varied national priorities and challenges.

Among the distinguished members are Kamal Youcef-Toumi, specializing in mechanical engineering, Belgacem Haba and Karim Zaghib in materials science, and Lydia Bourouiba in mathematics and physics. The council also includes experts such as Noreddine Ghaffour in environmental sciences, Athman Bouguettaya in computer science, Karim Djouani and Abdelhamid Mellouk in artificial intelligence, Mohammed Gagaoua in animal production, and Karim Chelli, who serves as a university president, highlighting the depth of talent within the Algerian diaspora.
